WHAT IS THE NIH STAGE TRIALS TRAINING PROGRAM?

INTRODUCING THE NIH STAGE TRIALS TRAINING PROGRAM?

The NIH STAGE TRIALS Training Program, sponsored by The National Institute on Aging, is a national educational program designed for early- to mid-career scientists interested in advancing behavioral interventions through the NIH Stage Model and randomized controlled trials (RCTs). This 80-hour program is taught virtually in 3-hour blocks on Tuesdays and Thursdays, over 14 weeks. Scientists of the NIH STAGE TRIALS Training Program will graduate with a written first draft of their RCT proposal.

The NIH STAGE TRIALS Training Program's long-term objective is to expand the national pool of NIH Stage Model-informed and NIH-funded scientists committed to advancing behavioral interventions to promote healthy aging.

NIH STAGE MODEL

The NIH Stage Model for Behavioral Intervention Development offers guidance on best practices for generating, testing, and implementing effective behavioral interventions that can be delivered in real-world settings.
